We are currently seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our busy and friendly client on a permanent basis in Ipswich, Suffolk. This is a hands-on role, ideal for a skilled technician with strong technical knowledge and excellent problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes and filter replacements
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently and accurately
  • Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify potential issues
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot faults
  • Order parts and materials required for repairs
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work
  • Adhere to health & safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised workshop

Required Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proven diagnostic and repair skills
  • Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Solid knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, and braking systems
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously and use initiative when required

Experience & Qualifications

  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification OR time served experience
